Best Practice Instructions to Create Workspace for EDI Projects and Packages

The Clarify Studio Workspace is designed to have EXTOL created objects separated into Projects. Within these projects are packages and inside those packages are the EBI user created objects.

A best practice for the workspace set-up is having a Base Project and then multiple Trading Partner Projects.

1 - Base Project

In the base project the EBI user wants to place objects that can be used by multiple trading partners.

We separate these into different packages. In this example there is a baseObjects package, which includes general objects, such as Global Variables and Data Sources.

We then have an actions packages that includes the many SQL Actions and Formulas aa Cleo user can use in multiple Rulesets and Business Processes.

Our final package we have contains general inbound objects that can be used by multiple trading partners, such as File Monitors and Business Processes.

2 - Trading Partner Inbound Project

In the Trading Partner Projects the Cleo user wants to place any objects that are related to a specific Trading Partner.
